ACPD Makes Counterfeit Currency Arrest

On 10-27-2022, the Arkansas City Police Department began receiving reports of counterfeit currency being passed in the community. Officers took four reports, 3 of which involved passing counterfeit $100 bills. Other counterfeit currency passed consisted of $20 bills. Victim locations included area businesses and vendors at the Arkalalah festival.

During the investigation, a suspect was identified in passing (3) $100 bills. This suspect, identified as Tanner Scott Mora, age 29, of Arkansas City, was arrested on 10-28-2022 in the 700 block of South Summit Street.

When arrested, Mora was found to be in possession of counterfeit money, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Investigators were able to link the suspect to a case that took place earlier in October.

Tanner Scott Mora was transported to the Cowley County Jail, where he is currently held on a $41,000 bond.
