Search Warrant Leads To Drug-Related Arrests

On May 18, 2024, members of the Arkansas City Police Department, in collaboration with the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant in the 800 block of South 6th Street in Arkansas City following a drug investigation. The warrant was the result of investigative work initiated after reports of suspected drug activity at the residence.

During the search, officers discovered substances believed to be illegal drugs along with items associated with drug use. As a result, two occupants of the residence were arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offenses.

Arrested Individuals:

  • Johnny Knight, 65, Arkansas City
    • Charges: possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Knight’s bond was set for $6,000.
       
  • William Dial, 60, Arkansas City
    • Charges: two counts of possession of opiates and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dial’s bond was set for $4,500.

Both individuals were transported to the Cowley County Jail and later released on bond.
