Suspect in Custody Following Stabbing

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Arkansas City Police and Arkansas City Fire/EMS were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Oklahoma Avenue following a report of a physical disturbance. While en route, officers were informed that the incident involved a stabbing.

 

Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her neck. Arkansas City Fire/EMS provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to South Central Medical Center. She was subsequently airlifted to a Wichita medical facility for further treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

 

The suspect, Sean Michael Boydston, 54, Arkansas City, was inside a nearby residence. Officers established probable cause and arrested Boydston without incident. Investigators have determined that the suspect and victim are in a domestic relationship.

 

Boydston was booked into the Cowley County Jail on charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Domestic Battery. His bond has been set at $100,000.
