ACPD to Participate In Click It or Ticket Campaign

Every day, we make hundreds of choices, and one of the simplest yet most crucial decisions is wearing your seat belt. Despite the proven life-saving benefits of seat belts, many still neglect this basic safety measure. In response, the Arkansas City Police Department is ramping up enforcement efforts as part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign, emphasizing the importance of seat belt use for adults and children alike.

Until June 2, 2024, ACPD officers will intensify their focus on seat belts, child safety seat compliance, and other traffic laws. The goal is to reduce fatalities and injuries by ensuring that all drivers and passengers are properly restrained every time they travel on our roads.

"Your seat belt could be what saves you and those riding with you. Insist that everyone in the vehicle is restrained on every trip," ACPD Chief Jim Holloway said. "In the interest of saving lives, the Arkansas City Police Department is committed to ticketing and educating violators of adult seat belt and child safety laws, as well as other traffic infractions. We want you to be as safe as possible on your travels."

The Arkansas City Police Department urges everyone to buckle up and ensure children are properly secured in appropriate safety seats. Remember, Click It or Ticket isn't just a campaign; it's a commitment to protecting our community. By wearing your seat belt, you're not just protecting yourself but also contributing to the safety of everyone around you.
