ACPD RESPOND TO ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

ARKANSAS CITY, KAN. (Oct. 10, 2022) On October 8th, 2022, at 1:31 p.m., Arkansas City Police and EMS were called to the 500 block N. 3rd Street to a report of a person with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers located a 21-year-old Arkansas City man with a bullet wound to his left leg. The man reported that he was getting ready to clean the gun and that the firearm discharged one time into his leg.

Officers processed the scene. The man was transported by ambulance to the South Central Kansas Medical Center but was later transferred to a Wichita hospital for further treatment. The man has since been released from the hospital.
