Stephenson Sworn in to ACPD

During the Nov. 7, 2023, City Commission meeting, Ethan Stephenson was sworn in as an officer with the Arkansas City Police Department. 

Stephenson began employment with the department on Oct. 19, 2023, and has completed all the rigorous phases of the police department hiring process. 

"Officer Stephenson comes to us from the Cowley County Sheriff's Department, where he's been working as a correction officer in the jail," Jim Holloway, Operations Division Captain, said. "During his interview process, Officer Stephenson, who grew up in Arkansas City, cited his involvement in the DARE program as a student at Adams Elementary and his positive experiences working alongside Arkansas City Police Officers when he was employed at the county jail as motivations for seeking employment with the department. Moreover, he is strongly committed to serving and contributing to his community."
