Suspicious Individual Apprehended at Creekstone

On May 14, 2024, the Arkansas City Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious individual at Creekstone Farms, 604 Goff Industrial Park Road. Upon arrival, officers were approached by employees who indicated that a male suspect appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances.

The suspect, identified as Esphesus Kago, 28, from Wichita, was exhibiting unusual behavior. During the investigation, officers discovered that Kago was in possession of illegal substances. When officers attempted to take Kago into custody, he resisted arrest. Despite this resistance, officers successfully apprehended Kago and transported him to the Cowley County Jail.

Further investigation revealed that Kago had an active warrant issued by the United States Attorney General's Office for aggravated assault on a postal worker. Kago remains in custody on charges of obstructing a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the federal warrant. No bond has been set at this time.

Neither Kago nor any officers sustained injuries during the arrest.

A court of law determines a suspect's guilt or innocence.
