Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

Following a traffic stop in the early hours of June 9, 2023, Arkansas City Police Department made an arrest.

 

Shortly after midnight on June 9, 2023, officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Honda Accord in the 1300 block of South Summit. Upon contact with the driver, Sean Nally, 28, Arkansas City, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana.

 

A subsequent search led to officers discovering a sizeable amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. A further investigation of the vehicle by officers revealed paraphernalia commonly used to facilitate drug sales and a Glock handgun.

 

Officers searched Nally's clothing when placing him under arrest. Drug paraphernalia and more than 100 grams of methamphetamine were found concealed in his clothing. 

 

Nally was transported to the Cowley County Jail for possession with the intent to sell marijuana, possession with the intent to sell methamphetamine, possession of drug sales paraphernalia, possession of drug use paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

 

Nally's Bond was set at $27,000.

 

A court of law determines a suspect's guilt or innocence.
